ABOUT NEWELL MOTORSPORTS

If there was an award for someone who eat, sleeps and breathes the racing industry Dustin Newell would definitely be a contender. Dustin Newell of Gray, Georgia was born into the racing industry and started driving at a young age. Now at 32-years-old, Newell has 21-years of driving under his belt.

“I’ve been racing since I was 9 starting with go-carts up until the age of 16 when I started racing Pure Stock Models. Newell travels all over the southeast with his team, Newell Motorsports. Racing the classes of 602 / 604 / and National Late Model Series. Even though Newell travels all over he claims Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA as his home track.

“I’ve always loved the East Alabama Motor Speedway,” said Newell. “It’s a once in a lifetime deal. It’s the track is really fast and provides a great family environment.”

“My goal for the racing season is to just go out, have strong finishes and try not to tear anything up and be a top competitor. I like to show up and have a good time,” said Newell.

“My parents have been the biggest influence on my racing career,” said Newell. They have supported me from the beginning and have always encouraged me to follow my dreams. “My dad has been to every race and he taught me everything I know. Dirt Track Racing has been a family tradition for over 70 years.
